Therapy

Individual talk therapy shaped around what you want to work on, with a provider who can also handle prescribing if that becomes part of the picture.

A conversation, not a script

Steven draws on several therapeutic approaches rather than applying one method to everyone. Which ones come into play gets explored in your first sessions, once there is a clearer sense of what you are dealing with and what you want to be different.

What stays constant is the relationship: collaborative, direct, and free of judgment. You are not being evaluated. You are being listened to.

Approaches drawn on

Methods that may be part of your care

Cognitive behavioral (CBT)

Looking at how thoughts, feelings and behavior feed each other, and building practical ways to interrupt unhelpful loops.

Interpersonal

Focused on relationships, roles and transitions, and how the people around you affect how you feel.

Motivational interviewing

Useful when part of you wants change and part of you does not. It works with that ambivalence rather than against it.

Person-centered

You set the direction. The work follows what matters to you rather than a predetermined agenda.

Mindfulness-based

Building the ability to notice what is happening internally without immediately reacting to it.

Solution focused

Short-term and practical, aimed at a specific problem you want to move on rather than open-ended exploration.

Why it helps

One provider who sees the whole file

When therapy and prescribing sit with the same person, what surfaces in a session can immediately inform a medication decision, and a change in medication can be tracked against what you report week to week.

That does not mean everyone needs both. Plenty of people work with Steven for therapy only. But when both are useful, having them in one place removes a lot of friction.

About medication management

Two ways forward

You do not have to be certain to take a step

Some people are ready to put an appointment on the calendar. Others want to understand the details first. Both are welcome here.

If you are ready

Start your booking

Headway is where appointments, insurance and billing are handled. You will see current availability, add your insurance for a cost estimate, and choose a time that works.

Book an appointment

A short contact step comes first, then Steven’s live Headway schedule.

If you have questions first

Ask before you commit

Plenty of people want to understand how virtual care works, whether their plan is accepted, or what a first appointment is like before booking anything. Send a short note and we will answer.

Ask a question

No appointment required. Please leave out medical details.

Next step

Take the next step when you feel ready

If you would like to schedule, Headway handles booking, insurance and billing. If you have questions first, send them over and we will get back to you.
